The Knicks will be celebrating Christmas Day at The Garden this year, but the New York fans likely won’t be sending holiday cheer towards the visiting bench, given the scheduled opponent.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, one of the Christmas games this year will be Trae Young and the Hawks visiting the Knicks at MSG, a rematch of this year’s first-round playoff series, which Atlanta won in five games and eliminated the Knicks at The Garden.
Young blossomed into a star and became vilified in New York after taunting the crowd following his game winning shot with less than a second to go in game one. The Knicks return much of their core from last year’s surprising playoff run and likely won’t show Young much love on the floor.
It's been some time since the Hawks have played on Christmas day, according to Mike Conti.
