After a trade deadline where the Hawks moved De'Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic, it was expected the Hawks might really struggle, but they've rebounded with a 2-game winning streak that included a big comeback win over the Milwaukee Bucks, and the undefeated weekend ended with Trae Young being named as an injury replacement for the All-Star team.
Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered a calf injury that is going to keep him out through the All-Star break and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver selected Hawks PG Trae Young as his replacement. The selection is significant considering the national talking point of Trae Young being snubbed originally, but also that Silver didn't replace Giannis with another Forward, opting to go with the best player as opposed to the identical position.
This is the second straight season in which Trae Young was originally left off the All-Star team before being added as an injury replacement. It's his 4th season as an All-Star.
