"We have busloads coming" says Reverend Timothy McDonald about a planned protest outside the State Capitol in downtown Atlanta Tuesday.
When I spoke to Rev. McDonald about the purpose of the protest and who'd be in attendance, he said that more than 1,000 churches would be represented.
It was organized by faith leaders to protest Georgia's new voting law. Signed into law on March 25th, the measure allows more opportunities for some to vote, but it also includes provisions for Voter ID, and restrictions on absentee voting.
Tuesday's protest outside the Georgia Capitol is scheduled to begin at noon. McDonald says they will take their fight to secure voter rights to the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. next week.
