Omega Day at the Georgia Capitol started 13 years ago says member James Bruin. This year it will be a virtual event at 6pm on Monday February 7, with the public also being encouraged to attend. It was also presented virtually in 2021.

Bruin tells Audacy Atlanta's Maria Boynton they wanted to open it up not just to men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. but to all Georgia voters. "We wanted to make sure that we allow for people in Georgia and other states, who know that Georgia is ground-zero for voting rights, to be able to get information available to them."

U.S. Representatives Nikema Williams and Lucy McBath, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, and candidate for Georgia Governor Stacey Abrams are among the expected speakers.

According to Bruin, "We want the public to know what laws are being passed, who's running for office, as-well-as let the voters know that they have a voice."

Those interested in attending can register at the Omega Psi Phi State Organization of Georgia website.
