Lagoke and Ronda Felton had just finished their duets portion for Hollywood Week and were waiting to see if they would advance and continue their run on American Idol.

Host Lionel Richie was offering his critique telling Lagoke, “Funke, you got yourself to the end. The problem is…” Right before Lagoke faints and hits her head on the floor with a startling thud.

Felton and the rest of the American Idol crew let out an audible gasp as Lagoke fell while host Katy Perry put her hands up on her face in shock. Immediately, Richie and Luke Bryan, along with paramedics rushed to the stage to check on her.

Bryan assisted with stabilizing Lagoke’s head as paramedics treated her on stage. She was then taken to the hospital by ambulance and was treated for dehydration. The show reported that Lagoke was released from the hospital and will be returning to the competition alongside Felton.

“I can’t say that I’m happy in this moment, I’m just worried about her health more than anything,” Felton said after her partner’s fall. “I feel like that’s the number one important thing right now. I just want to let her know that I love her, that I care about her, I want her to be OK.”
