92.9 The Game Atlanta Braves insider Grant McAuley joined Dukes & Bell for his daily appearance on the show and talked about the team’s season that was and what veteran closer Kenley Jansen's future with the Braves looks like as he will be a free agent this offseason.

When asked if the Braves should bring Jansen back next year.

“I wouldn’t close the door to that because how many weapons can you have in the bullpen? The answer is 'never, oh we’ve got too many, we’ve got too many good relievers,'” McAuley said. “So if it makes sense inside of the framework of the offseason spending that you’re going to do and whether it’s Kenley or somebody else that has closing experience or is a top-flight reliever I still feel like that’s an area that you always go to, even when it’s a strength.”

McAuley talked about why Jansen should be a consideration for the team in offseason.

“I would look at Kenley as a guy I’d be happy to have back in the mix in that bullpen, you know he’s gonna close some games," McAuley said. "They’ve got Raisel Iglesias as well, they’ve got A.J. Minter, they got a few other guys that are going to be under contract for a few years. I would love to have as many proven, veteran arms that I can put in that bullpen.”
