On Thursday Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael were joined by 92.9 The Game Atlanta Braves Reporter, Joe Patrick, who talked about a number of different topics including who will be the Braves fourth outfielder come Opening Day on April 1 against the Philadelphia Phillies.
“A lot of us were kind of saying that Ender won’t be the starter but he will be on the bench to be their (Braves) outfield glove and I think he will be…but the really nice thing about the Braves is that they have a lot of interchangeable parts. You know Ronald Acuña Jr. has plenty of experience playing in centerfield and then you can use a guy like a Johan Comargo in right field or you can even move Austin Riley into the outfield and insert Jake Lamb at third base,” said Patrick when talking about the Braves outfield depth.
“There is lots of ways that Brian Snitker can kind of manipulate this roster where I don’t know if the Braves necessarily need to have that fourth outfielder unless there is some sort of long term injury,” Patrick continued.
Patrick also went on to talk about how it’s unfortunate that the Braves did not re-sign Adam Duvall for the 2021 season.
