Will the Atlanta Braves make another offseason move, sign a short?

With the start of Spring Training about eight weeks away for Major League Baseball, the Atlanta Braves continue to make offseason moves to bolster their roster and prepare for the 2023 season.

While the addition of catcher Sean Murphy appears to be a significant move made by the club, the shadow of losing a fan favorite for the second consecutive season with shortstop, Dansby Swanson opting to sign with the Cubs, appears to still leave many questioning if Atlanta may have taken a step back with the lose.


On Wednesday, John and Hugh were joined by Braves Insider Grant McAuley and the three discussed the latest updates with the club, including whether or not they may still look to sign a shortstop in lieu of the loss of Swanson.

“You do have a couple of guys out there that are shortstops, at least on a short-term basis would make a lot of sense for the Braves in 2023,” McAuley told John and Hugh as he shared his thoughts on who the Braves could potentially go after to fill the void left by Swanson. “The name that’s been thrown around the most is Elvis Andrus,” McAuley shared with the guys.
