Several key members of the Atlanta Falcons organization have made it clear they are not moving on from Kirk Cousins without also doing what is best for the team. Cousins' trade market has fluctuated this offseason as quarterbacks have found new homes and draft speculation runs rampant. The team, however, has been anything but flimsy when it comes to their now backup quarterback.
Blank reiterated the team's stance and detailed an hour-long meeting with Cousins in a conversation with NFL Network's Steve Wyche at the Owner's Meetings in Florida this week. The market has not been clear on what value the team could get in return if a franchise gets into a desperate situation for a starting-caliber QB. Speculation of a third-round pick was put out a few weeks back by Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
Cousins will likely be valuable to a franchise at some point during the season. He also has reiterated his stance of not removing his no-trade clause until after this month's NFL Draft.
