The New York Yankees have acquired two minor-leaguers, infielder Caleb Durbin and RHP Indigo Diaz, from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for LHP Lucas Luetge.

Luetge, 35, was designated for assignment last week when the Yankees announced the signings of Tommy Kahnle and Carlos Rodon. The journeyman lefty signed with the Yankees in December 2020 and made the opening day roster in 2021, his first MLB action since 2015, and he posted a 2.67 ERA in 57 1/3 innings across 50 outings last year.
According to our Braves Insider, Grant McAuley, Luetge isn't going to wow anyone on the radar gun, but when it comes to limiting hard-hit balls he's one of the better relievers in the game.
Durbin, 22, was the Braves’ 14th-round pick in 2021, and he has slashed .244/.351/.363 with eight home runs, 68 RBI, 80 runs, 55 walks, and 43 stolen bases in 122 career games. He split 2022 between Single-A Augusta and High-A Rome, slashing .241/.352/.372 in 105 combined games with Single-A Augusta and High-A Rome in 2022.
Diaz, 24, was the Braves’ 27th-round pick in 2019. Last season, he 3-4 with four saves and a 3.08 ERA in 49 appearances at Double-A Mississippi, with 63 strikeouts in 49 2/3 innings. He has a 2.31 career ERA in 105 innings over 87 relief outings, and was Rule 5 Draft eligible but not selected this year.
