The Atlanta Braves will face their toughest test and play in their biggest series of the season starting tonight when they take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three game weekend series in LA, and earlier today The Morning Shift explained why they think the Braves offense must take advantage of facing the backend of the Dodgers starting pitching rotation.
“We are not getting their toughest starters.” Mike Johnson said. Mike also went on to say that he feels like the Braves should have an “upperhand” in this weekend’s pitching matchups.
The Braves will basically be having their three best pitchers going in this series with Chris Sale pitching on Friday, Spencer Strider pitching on Saturday, and Bryce Elder pitching on Sunday. For the Dodgers it’s basically the complete opposite as they will have their three backend guys going with Emmet Sheehan pitching on Friday, Roki Sasaki pitching on Saturday, and Justin Wrobleski pitching on Sunday. With this being the case the Braves have to take advantage of not facing the Dodgers’ top pitchers, get their bats hot, and win this series.
