Rightfully so CJ McCollum is getting plenty of love for his 32 point performance in the Atlanta Hawks 107-106 comeback win against the New York Knicks last night in Madison Square Garden in Game 2 of their first round playoff series with the Knicks, that is now tied at one game a piece as the series shifts to Atlanta, but what shouldn’t go overlooked is what Hawks trade deadline addition Jonathan Kuminga did off the bench.

Kuminga had 19 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, a block, and an assist in his 35 minutes off the bench, and his energy and physicality on both ends of the court was something the Hawks desperately needed last night, and The Morning Shift talked about it earlier today.

CJ McCollum definitely did the heavy lifting and carried the Hawks to victory last night, and earned the ‘villain’ label the city of New York is now trying to put on him, but Jonathan Kuminga was undoubtedly the Atlanta Hawks unsung hero last night.
