Hawks getting lift from Jonathan Kuminga
Since coming over from the Golden State Warriors in a trade back in February, which sent Kristaps Porzingis to the Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga has provided glimpses of how pivotal he can be for the Atlanta Hawks, however, his anticipated offensive production has lacked consistency throughout the second half of the regular season.
Now, with the Hawks in the playoffs, despite and eight-point outing in Game 1 in there best of seven series with the New York Knicks, Kuminga appears to have settled into his role with Atlanta finishing with 19 points in the Hawks Game 2 win and 21 points in Atlanta’s 109-108 win in Game 3 to help the Hawks take a 2-1 series lead.
“Kuminga is doing what we’ve needed him to do,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said as he and cohost Mike Bell discussed the Hawk win over the Knicks on Thursday. “This is the kind of stuff that gets you the sixth man of the year award and that’s why I want him,” Bell said of Kuminga and his impact in the last two matchups against the Knicks.Jonathan Kuminga proving Hawks with valuable minutes off the bench
