Hawks building on foundation Quin Snyder is establishing
For the first time since the 2022-2023 season, the Atlanta Hawks have reached the first round of the NBA playoffs as they will face the New York Knicks in the opening round of the Eastern Conference race, with the first game of the series beginning on Saturday.
And while the Hawks find themselves in a position they have been out of for a while, how they got there may be even more impressive and on Tuesday, 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell were joined by Hawks forward, CJ McCollum, who praised Atlanta head coach Quin Snyder for his approach to leading the team.
“I think he’s done a tremendous job of continuing to build that foundation, harping on the pillars of what it takes to be successful and just really focusing on the day-to-day work,” McCollum, who the Hawks acquired in a January trade which sent Trae Young to the Washington Wizards, said of Snyder.
“We had a goal, we had an ideal of what we wanted to accomplish and how we would get to where we are, but it really just started with winning each day, understand what has to happen for us to be successful and understand how we have to approach the game and understand what our team DNA is going to look like from an offensive and defensive standpoint,” McCollum continued as he noted Snyder and the “non-negotiables” standards he expects from the team.Hawks DNA coming to form under Quin Snyder
