Hawks add 'physicality' with draft selection of Zuby Ejiofor
The NBA Draft is in the rearview mirror and for the Atlanta Hawks, the first-round resulted in the selections of Houston guard, Kingston Flemings with the eighth overall pick, and Zuby Ejiofor out of St. John’s, with the 23rd overall pick. “Really excited and really humbled to hear my name called,” Ejiofor told 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell as discussed, his emotions after being drafted by the Hawks.
“It just felt natural, like I belong here,” Ejiofor continued as he discussed arriving in Atlanta and meeting with his new teammates and Hawks personnel. “I’m just really excited to get on the floor and compete with the rest of the guys and bring a level of physicality to the A,” Ejiofor continued. “That’s just the blueprint of who I am,” Ejiofor said of his physicality and toughness.
“I just take pride in being able to come out there and provide energy, use my motor and just get stops. I think I’m a defensive minded player first and that can kind of take away from what I’m able to provide on the offensive end, but I love to get stops, I love to impose my will and physicality and all I’m looking to do is add is add to what Atlanta already has so I’m really excited for the opportunity,” Ejiofor said.
