Michael Render, aka Killer Mike and longtime friend and now business partner Clifford "T.I." Harris has partnered together to reopen the iconic Bankhead Seafood Restaurant, which is considered a westside staple in the community. Both grew up in Bankhead and currently own several properties throughout the area.
During a press conference at Frederick Douglas High School, Killer Mike shared what led up to the purchase of Bankhead Seafood.
The rapper/social activist, along with T.I. Harris and developer Noel Khalil purchased Bankhead Seafood from Helen Harden two weeks after she retired. Killer Mike and Harris both have shared how important it is to reinvest back in the neighborhood. Render said that he wants the restaurant to be a part of the community.
The restaurant is set to open this year; however, before opening the actual restaurant, the group will launch a food truck this spring.
