2026 Infiniti QX80 Sport 4WD

I didn’t…until I drove it.

The surprise? After 36 years of hard-fought competition, Infiniti’s big QX80 absolutely crushed Lexus’ 3-row in sales last year…and it looks like they’ll do it again in ’26.

Why?

Well, let’s start where just about everyone starts…with the looks. Completely redesigned for ’25, the QX kinda looks like the big bully on the block dressed in a tux. Chunky and muscular and ready to rumble…especially in Sport trim.

Sport trim brings big gloss-black 22s, exterior trim to match, open-pore ash wood, and dark matte chrome interior trim… all of which gave our “Dusk Blue” Q a “Don’t even think about it” look.

And here’s a little more: The Sport comes with 1,000-watt, 24-speaker Klipsch audio with front-seat headrest speakers, 64-color ambient lighting… and whoa…and second-row semi-aniline, biometrically cooled, massaging seats.

Massaging second row seats!? Oh wait….no. You need to opt for Infiniti’s QX “Autograph” trim for second-row massaging.

But trim is far from the real QX80 story.

While the old V-8 is gone, today’s 3.5-liter, 450 HP twin-turbo six outperforms yesterday’s engine. You’ll hustle to 60 in less than six seconds, and get a computer-limited top end of 120.

OK…but what if you want to take advantage of the Sport Q’s 4WD and put it to work? Got 8,500 lbs to tow? All good. And if you’re planning on doing some dirt road towing, you oughta’ love what the QX80 adds to your game.

You’ll have a vertically adjustable air suspension, 3-D “Around view with spin-vision”…giving you the ability to see where every corner of your vehicle is…trailer blind spot warnings…and an invisible hood with 8 different camera angles. The result? This big brute feels and drives smaller than its size would suggest.

Mileage was better than a vehicle of this size would indicate, too. I averaged a hair over 18 MPG during my week-long commute. Pretty good for a full-sized premium vehicle like this.

QX80s will start in the mid-$80s. Our Sport had a $108,160 bottom line.

There’s vehicles out there with similar features and capabilities that will list for $50+ more.
