ATLANTA — With Election Day just days away, former Vice President Kamala Harris headlined the Fulton County Democratic Party’s Fulton Forward 2026 Dinner on Friday, October 30, joining Georgia Democrats for an evening focused on the state’s political future, economic concerns, and the importance of voter participation. The gathering brought together party leaders, community members, and supporters as Georgia entered the final stretch of the midterm election season.
Faith and perseverance were also at the heart of the evening. Dr. Karri Bryant led the opening prayer, setting a meaningful tone for a gathering rooted in the ongoing fight for justice, equality, and opportunity for all. Her prayer served as a reminder of the faith and determination that continue to move communities forward.
Georgia Democratic nominee for governor Keisha Lance Bottoms brought her own message of hope and encouragement, urging supporters to stay engaged and focused on the work ahead. Her words, “Hold on, we're almost there,” captured the spirit of the evening and resonated as a reminder that the work of creating change requires persistence, even when the road gets difficult.
Harris addressed the economic concerns facing American families and highlighted President Donald Trump's proposal to provide $2,000 payments funded by tariff revenue. Using the Halloween season to make her point, she described the administration's promises as “tricks disguised as treats,” raising questions about what Americans are actually being offered. The discussion brought attention to larger concerns about the economy, the rising cost of living, and whether promises coming from Washington will translate into meaningful relief for everyday Americans.
The dinner came as Georgia wrapped up early voting for the midterm elections, with turnout reaching record numbers. The historic participation demonstrated that Georgians are paying attention and making their voices heard on the issues that affect their families, communities, and future.
As the evening came to a close, the message extended beyond politics. It was about faith, unity, and the belief that every voice matters. The challenge now is to carry that energy beyond the room and into the communities where change begins. It means continuing the conversations, encouraging others to participate, and showing up when it matters most.
The road ahead may not be easy, but the spirit of Fulton County was one of hope and determination. And as the message of the evening reminded those gathered: hold on, keep believing, and keep moving forward. We're almost there.
