The university professor who blazes multiple media platforms daily has accomplished a feat that will confound some and motivate others. Dr. Rashad Richey, who's the popular daily television opinion news anchor for ‘Indisputable with Dr. Rashad Richey’ on the TYT Network, ranked the fastest growing TV news show in America by HEG Evaluation Group, and the weekly on-air radio personality for the award-winning ‘Rashad Richey Morning Show’ on News & Talk 1380-WAOK & V-103 FM (HD3), has completed his Juris Doctor degree, concluding a three-plus year journey of driving long hours, sitting in law school lectures, debating law professors, and studying for finals. Richey, an accomplished academic and policy leader, has already accepted the role as Director of Global Legal Operations at the International Law Group of Human & Civil Rights Attorneys, P.C., also known as The Fairness Firm, with affiliate offices in Atlanta, GA, France, Spain, Canada, and Cape Town, South Africa. The firm says plans are underway to open an office in Washington, D.C. as well.

This accomplishment is noteworthy for multiple reasons. In addition to his television and radio programs, Richey is the weekend host for the Dr. Rashad Richey Review on SiriusXM Urban View Channel 126, and his podcast, 'Indisputable' is in the top 5% of most listened-to podcasts in America according to The L.A. Monitor. Despite his busy schedule, Richey was sure he  wanted to complete his law degree and started the journey in 2020 at Atlanta John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Georgia. A scholarship recipient, Richey describes the experience as a “tough first year for all law students”, noting it was the height of the Covid crisis, creating its own set of barriers through the process of learning law. "None of us knew what to expect", said Richey, who eventually would transfer to Birmingham School of Law for their unique, adult-centered weekend law school program that allows students to take the same classes as weekday students, but consolidated into Saturdays. According to Richey, even though the drive to Birmingham, Alabama every Friday night for roughly 2 years was taxing, he persevered, knowing the Saturday schedule was much more congruent to his demanding on-air and business executive demands.

Embracing multiple academic programs, Richey, who was enrolled in the Ph.D. in Quantum Physics research program at Paris Graduate School while attending law school, experienced a breakthrough with his lab team during the preliminary research phase, which showed promising signs that his quantum-based research and technique for neurological brain enhancement may reverse symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, which has no known cure. Richey was granted provisional patent status by the United States Patent & Trade Office for both of his inventions, the Neurological Brain Entrainment Device, and the Bilateral Neuronic Hemispheric Harmonization Brain Entrainment Device.

In one case study, a respondent medically diagnosed with Alzheimer’s had her symptoms fully dissipate, and cognitive functions seemingly completely restored. After this, Richey realized it was time for his photo-biomodulation device to undergo clinical trials, and would need to magnify his focus, given the work required. Juggling a massive multifaceted career, and in his final leg of law school, Richey was feeling the pressure. "Pretty much everyone around me except for a few, said I needed to just pause my legal studies for now and come back after completing my doctoral program and clinical trials", Richey said. Not known to back away from a challenge, Richey admitted he considered stepping away from law studies at least temporarily but decided to research other options. He found his solution at Renaissance University’s law program, a French and English-speaking university that has a cooperative agreement with the Faculty of Law at the University of Montreal. Renaissance University also boasts its multiple international partnerships including a framework cooperation agreement with University Rennes 2 in France, a partnership with the Federal University of Rondonia in Brazil, and Madison International Institute & Business School in the United Kingdom to name a few. The campus provides opportunities for students to take up subjects ranging from science to law. Richey recognized the opportunity to finish his JD studies, enrolled in the university's degree completion program, was able to transfer his previous law courses, and completed the remaining credits required as of November 2023.  Graduates with qualifying law degrees from internationally accredited and government-recognized universities are eligible to sit for the bar in 49 states with varying protocols per state. After completing his law degree, Richey, who has not yet taken the bar but plans to, accepted an executive position at the multinational law firm, The International Law Group of Human & Civil Rights Attorneys, P.C., known as The Fairness Firm, whose goal is to advocate for those who have been victims of human or civil rights and catastrophic injuries.

According to The Fairness Frim, Richey is a brilliant strategic legal scholar, and will go far in the profession. The firm noted, “[Richey] coordinates between their affiliated international law firms, navigating policy issues and providing senior-level strategic approaches for complex civil and human rights matters.” The Fairness Firm, led by noted Attorney Erica Wilson, also said, Dr. Richey is a well-known national and international policy expert … who also holds a Doctor of Law (LLD) in International Immigration Law & World Economies from Azteca University and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Humanitarian Rights. A noted strategic thinker and problem solver, Dr. Richey has been appointed to various executive-level roles by both governmental and nongovernmental agencies and currently serves as a Senior Policy Advisor to The Carter Center, an international, peacekeeping NGO founded by former United States President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn. Understanding the strength of multinational collaboration, Dr. Richey serves dully as Chairman of the Georgia Council of International Visitors, a United States Department of State funded agency dedicated to international diplomacy, cultural awareness, and educational exchanges, making him the first African-American to lead the organization. An active scholar, his lectures include the University of Michigan, Reinhardt University, Mercer University, Morehouse School of Medicine, and the University of West GA to name a few. He is a Visiting Scholar at Clark Atlanta University, Professor of Business at Morris Brown College, both noted HBCUs, and serves internationally as the Professor of Physics and Department Chair at Paris Graduate School in Paris, France.”

Additionally, Richey holds a PhD in political sciences, a Master of Science in Applied Physics & Quantum Mechanics, and a Master of Science in Neuroscience. When asked how he fits so much in his schedule, he said, “We are more than physical beings, and capable of achieving feats congruent to our willingness to learn and will to serve. God has given each of us a divine spark inside. Connecting to that divine spark will cause mountains to move out of your way.” Many friends and colleagues helped Richey along his journey, “I was able to glean wisdom, guidance, and insight from legal professionals, scholars, friends, colleagues, and family during my law school journey, including Fulton Chief Magistrate Judge Cassandra Kirk, Fulton Solicitor Keith Gammage, United States Congressman Hank Johnson, Thomas W. Dortch, Jr., Clark Atlanta University President Dr. George T. A recipient of the ‘Distinguished Alumni Award’ from Clark Atlanta University, and the youngest inductee into the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Oprah Winfrey, and US Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall are all honored past recipients, Richey serves as President of Rolling Out, the largest urban media company of its kind in America, and has been recognized by American presidents, local governments, and NGOs for his leadership and philanthropy. Understanding what it’s like to overcome a tough childhood, he founded The Rashad Richey Foundation, Inc., an active nonprofit that mentors and provides opportunities for gang-affected and gang-affiliated youth. Richey serves on the board of directors for Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, and is a member of the American Bar Association, International Bar Association, Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, American Society of International Law, International Behavioral Neuroscience Society, American College of Physical Medicine, National Association of Black Physicists, American Association of University Professors, National Association of Black Journalists, and the Atlanta NAACP.
