
This week on, OPWJS, Juandolyn was joined by Hakeem Webb, our financial expert and founder of National Christian Financial Advisors, discusses the idea that HBCUs are the key to financial success in our community.
Webb says the current financial impact in the nation of over $14.5 billion. He also shares that that HBCUs create 134,000 job leads. According to him, HBCUs offer education for less.
Webb says sending your child to an HBCU cost 30% less than a comparable institution and helps close the racial wealth gap. He tells Stokes that 30% of African Americans graduate in the the growing and immersive STEM fields. Webb shares that roughly 300,000 students attend HBCUs and students in STEM programs graduate making six figures and up.
Webb shares many companies are hiring students from HBCUs, according to LinkedIn. His concluding thoughts are it's important for everyone to give to HBCU's.
