On Point with Juandolyn Stokes welcomed Dadisi Olutosin of 100 Black Men of Atlanta to share their work with the Frederick Douglass High School (FDHS) 9th Grade Academy, which they adopted this year as part of their Project Success.
100 Black Men of Atlanta are involved in STEAM and Robotics programs with other schools too. The FDHS 9th grade STEAM Academy is an educational hub for 9th grade scholars that specialize in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
“We introduce students to different things,” said Olutosin.
Some students who attend FDHS are attracted to this magnet program.
According to Olutosin, 100 Black Men of Atlanta have married robotics and STEAM along with media for students to produce their podcast in partnership with rap mogul and businessman, Dr. Dre.
In additional to their educational contributions to students at FDHS, 100 Black Men of Atlanta recently donated Thanksgiving baskets to several families and donated $2,000 to go towards school uniforms
Olutosin says their contributions are “less about us telling what we are going to do, but they need.”
