Catina Wilson Discusses Holistic Weight Loss on the “Wake Up With Dee” Morning Show

Catina Wilson, owner of the Atlanta Wellness Clinic, joined the “Wake Up With Dee Morning Show” to share her personal wellness journey and explain how her clinic approaches sustainable weight loss through a holistic, individualized model.

Ms. Wilson, a wellness expert, author and holistic nutrition specialist, told listeners her work is rooted in lived experience. For more than three decades, she said, she struggled with repeated cycles of weight loss and gain, a pattern that mirrors the experiences of many women navigating diet culture.

I started the Atlanta Wellness Clinic for the simple fact that, like a lot of women, I have yo-yo dieted almost my entire life,” Ms. Wilson said.

Her journey intensified after enduring nine miscarriages before giving birth to her first and only child at age 46. While welcoming motherhood was a milestone, Ms. Wilson said the physical demands of pregnancy, medication-related weight gain and long-term stress eventually led to a pivotal moment that reshaped her priorities. During a family outing, she realized she did not have the physical stamina to catch her toddler when the child ran ahead in a crowded mall.

That moment, Ms. Wilson explained, marked the beginning of a comprehensive lifestyle change. Over time, she lost and sustained more than 90 pounds, combining nutrition coaching, consistent movement, mindset shifts and medical support. The experience later became the foundation for Atlanta Wellness Clinic, which she founded to help others pursue long-term health rather than short-term results.

During the interview, Ms. Wilson outlined the clinic’s philosophy, emphasizing that weight loss and wellness are not universal formulas. Instead, she said effective care starts with understanding each client’s personal motivations, habits and health history. The clinic begins with a detailed consultation designed to identify long-term goals and the deeper “why” that fuels consistency.

For me, it’s not a one-size-fits-all when we’re talking about our weight loss journey, our health journey,” Ms. Wilson said.

Ms. Wilson also discussed habit stacking, a behavioral strategy she uses to help clients gradually build healthier routines by adding small changes to existing habits. According to Ms. Wilson, this approach reduces overwhelm and helps clients stay consistent without drastic lifestyle disruption.

In addition to nutrition coaching, Atlanta Wellness Clinic offers medically supervised weight-loss tools, including GLP-1 medications, supplements, peptides and noninvasive body contouring services. Ms. Wilson stressed that these tools are designed to support lifestyle changes, not replace them, and are prescribed only after medical evaluation by licensed physicians on staff.

Ms. Wilson, author of The Habit Hacker’s Guide to Wellness and Your Guide to Eat Well on GLP-1 Medication, said her mission is rooted in advocacy and education. At 53, she balances her work as a business owner, wife and mother while helping clients navigate the complexities of modern weight loss.
