On The Rashad Richey Morning Show, shocking audio allegedly of three Atlanta Police officers admitting law enforcement illegally targeted, raided, and criminally charged individuals who oppose the “Cop City” development in Atlanta, GA because they were disrupting the financing of the deal.

Dr. Rashad Richey was alerted to the recording by multiple unnamed individuals late Sunday night. According to one Twitter account, the alarming audio comes from Zone 4 Atlanta police officers speaking on their government-issued communication devices. “This is supposed to be the civil rights capitol of America and they are out here violating the very principle of what it means to be a free society”, said Dr. Richey.

In the recording, officers can be heard discussing the raid that took place May 31, 2023, where three well-known and well-respected organizers were raided, arrested, and charged with multiple felonies, including financial fraud. Marlon Scott Kautz, Adele Maclean, and Savannah Patterson who are active board members of the Atlanta Solidarity Fund, with “money laundering "and “charity fraud.” Many have spoken out against the arrests.

According to an article written days ago by The Intercept, Natasha Lennard, Intercept contributor, highlighted the incident in detail by saying,

"A heavily armed Atlanta Police Department SWAT team raided a house in Atlanta and arrested three of its residents. Their crime? Organizing legal support and bail funds for protesters and activists." She went on to say who was charged in this case as well." Atlanta cops charged Marlon Scott Kautz, Adele Maclean, and Savannah Patterson —all board members of the Atlanta Solidarity Fund — with “money laundering” and "charity fraud.”

A couple of days later, the three detained organizers were granted bond by a Magistrate Judge in DeKalb County, who said he was “very unimpressed” with the State’s lack of evidence. The judge also expressed concerns that freedom of speech violations from the government may be at play. In an even more ironic request, the State prosecutor asked that no bond be granted and said the organizers were a threat to the community, the judge disagreed. The organizers were given a $15,000 bond each by the judge, which allows them to post bond through a bonding agency for roughly $150.00.

As stated in an AP News article titled "Bond granted for 3 activists whose fund bailed out people protesting Atlanta "Cop City" project," John Fowler, Deputy Attorney General, stated that the people who were detained were "flight risks and pose a danger to the community."

The recently obtained recording allegedly exposes three Zone 4 Atlanta Police officers talking in detail about their common knowledge of the raid being a politically motivated event, and how they have been targeting Atlanta protesters who oppose the development of the planned police and fire training center dubbed Cop City. In the recording, one officer says, “At some point, they’ve got to give up. I mean, especially if we’re the one after all the money. It could just shut them down.” The recording gets even darker when another enforcement says, “…we’ve been putting pressure on them and attacking them from all different angles.” Another officer even recommended, you know, go ahead and get it over with.”
