Ms. Washington shared that the NCNW Rockdale/Newton section is embracing the spirit of Kwanzaa this year by giving back during the holiday season. On December 28, the organization will observe the principle of Ujima (collective work and responsibility) by donating essential items to the Garden of Gethsemane Homeless Shelter in Newton County. This effort reflects the section's commitment to supporting the community, particularly women and children of African descent, by helping those in need during the holidays.
In addition to their holiday outreach, Ms. Washington highlighted the section's support for 6 Triple 8, a film produced by Tyler Perry. The NCNW nationwide recently participated in a group viewing of the film, celebrating this important historical moment.
Ms. Washington also shared her personal thoughts on the meaning of Christmas, emphasizing the importance of giving, love, and compassion during the holiday season. She expressed a commitment to making a positive impact on the community and spreading generosity to those who need it most.
