With the opening of its Ford Atlanta Research and Innovation Center (FARIC), Ford Motor Company is moving forward with its digital transformation in areas such as artificial intelligence, software-led connected vehicles, and university research.
With FARIC, Ford joins a network of research and development centers in Tel Aviv and Palo Alto dedicated to automating, connecting, and electrifying future vehicles. As a result of the newly opened Atlanta location, Ford has access to one of the most diverse tech talent markets in the U.S. and plans to develop a pipeline of software experts with various backgrounds.
While undergoing the most profound transformation in its history, Ford continues developing a workforce representing its communities and customers. Ford aims to attract and retain historically underrepresented talent, particularly in software engineering and high technology.
Listen below as Daryl speaks with Doron Elliott, senior manager of Ford In-Vehicle Infotainment, Dr. Talitha Washington, inaugural director of the Atlanta University Center Consortium Inc. Data Science Initiative, and Dr. Alaina Jackson, Ford City One: Community Experience and Research Lead, discussing the company’s digital transformation and its goal to increase Black, Hispanic and female representation in software engineering and high technology careers.
