So…what are a couple of things that you DON'T expect when you get into a 200 MPH vehicle?

I'll give you my opinion in just a bit, but let's start with what you DO expect.

Blindingly fast acceleration, of course.   Punch "Launch Control" and the Hellcat will take you to 60 just about as fast as you can say "Hey…Hold On!   Roughly 3.6 seconds for those keeping score.

And yes…depending upon which Hellcat you're lucky enough to be driving, you can get between 197 and 203 MPH on the top end.   I hope you've rented Daytona or Talladega.

But Dodge isn't just going to put you behind the wheel of 6.2 liters of supercharged 797 HP Hemi and say "Good Luck."

No.   You'll get stopping power to go with all that "GO".   Things like Brembo braking with 6-piston fronts and 4-piston rears, an adjustable computerized suspension ranging from "Street" to "Competition", and meaty 305 / 35 / ZR20 performance tires and a spoiler to help keep you connected to the road.

And Dodge is going to give you a little something extra to help you take care of your baby, too.   You'll get a "Power Chiller" that uses your AC refrigerant to help cool the air entering your cylinders after a hot run…as well as an "After Chiller" that keeps your fan and coolant pump running after shutdown.    You won't find those on most of today's six-figure Supercars.

So what are those things that you don't usually associate with anything that's got a speedo with 220 showing on top?

Comfort and space.

Yes…you get four easy-to-open doors…plenty of room for five in heated and ventilated front premium leather…heated rear seating…heated steering…premium audio… all of today's alerts and warnings…remote start…even parking assist.

Easy in / easy out.  The Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody is the only 200 MPH vehicle that I've ever driven that didn't make me feel like I was creating a new yoga position every time I got in or out.

Instead it just seemed to say "Hi there…let's keep it simple.   Just jump in…buckle up…pay attention…and let's go have fun!"

So if you're the type who really does want it all…speed, handling, comfort AND room for four friends, Dodge's Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody checks all the boxes.

Oh…and one more thing that you don't usually expect in a 200 MPH vehicle.   A window sticker that's well under six figures.   Hellcats start as low as 70K, and our well-optioned test Redeye Widebody with a few packages still came in under 87 thousand.

Try to get the same level of performance from Europe, and that $87,000 will likely have a 2 or 3 in front of it.   Just sayin'…………….
