Dr. Flava says historically our relationship with food has been one of comfort. He tells Stokes food is fuel for energy, water, and nutrients. Dr. Flava also says food should always taste good. Dr. Flava and Stokes discuss what the ideal meal should be.

The ideal meal should include:


Proteins: beans and veggies for vegans or chicken, breast or salmon

Complex carbs: sweet potatoes, not candied yams, brown rice or quinoa

Fats: avocado, olive oil, grape seed oil

Veggies: leafy green veggies



Dr. Flava and Stokes say we must be own advocates for better health because medication is not a cure but symptom reliever. Dr. Flava leaves with some parting wisdom know your numbers, exercise regularly and words have power-speak health into your body.
