Michael Bolden, Fulton County's AmeriCorps Coordinator, says a new program could be the difference in an elderly person's ability to stay in their homes and live safe and productive lives.
The Department of Senior Services is looking for volunteers to be trained and paired with seniors to complete daily living tasks. It's the Senior Companion Program.
According to Bolden volunteers are needed to serve as companions for residents from 5-20 hours a week. He says volunteers could qualify for a stipends compensating them for their service.
