The City of South Fulton has passed a resolution expressing disapproval, according to Mayor Pro-tem Helen Willis, of Mayor Khalid Kamau’s recent actions during his inaugural address. The official resolution was issued by the Council with a vote of 6-0, with one abstention, at a Special Called meeting held on Thursday. Kamau was sworn into office Tuesday.
Willis tells Audacy Atlanta's Maria Boynton that Mayor Kamau called for the resignation of the City Manager, the City Clerk, and the City Attorney. According to Willis the council was "blindsided" and Kamau overstepped his authority. They accuse Kamau of violating several sections of the city charter.
