As families across metro Atlanta prepare for the start of a new school year, South Fulton leaders are stepping up to ensure students have the tools they need to succeed.

On today's edition of the Wake Up With Dee Morning Show, host Dr. Dee Dawkins-Haigler spoke with South Fulton Councilman Jaceey Sebastian about the upcoming District 4 Back-to-School Supply Giveaway, an event designed to help students begin the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

Councilman Sebastian shared details about the community-focused initiative, which will provide free school supplies to students while supplies last and connect families with valuable educational and community resources. The event is part of a larger effort to support South Fulton families and invest in the future of local students.

According to organizers, the District 4 Back-to-School Supply Giveaway will take place on Saturday, July 18, from Noon to 3 p.m. at The Village Shops at Cedar Grove, located at 6000 Lynmark Way in South Fulton. Families attending can expect free school supplies, music, entertainment, educational resources, community vendors, children's activities, and interactive exhibits.

During the interview, Councilman Sebastian emphasized the importance of educational preparedness and community investment.

"Education is the foundation on which strong families, thriving neighborhoods and successful communities are built. Every child deserves to begin the school year prepared, confident and inspired to succeed," Sebastian said. "It is my honor to welcome students and families from District 4 and across the City as we come together to celebrate the start of another exciting school year and invest in the future of our children."

The District 4 event is one of two back-to-school celebrations taking place in South Fulton on July 18. Councilwoman Natasha Williams-Brown will also host a District 6 Back-to-School Carnival at Creel Park, providing additional opportunities for students and families to receive supplies and enjoy community activities.

As the first day of school approaches, events like these demonstrate the power of community partnerships and local leadership in helping students start the academic year on the right foot.
