UNCF Regional Development Director Justine Norman Boyd says Henry "Hank" Aaron has to be remembered as a baseball legend, but more importantly, as a generous, and kind family man , who loved his friends, his community and who did so much good. Aaron, with wife Billye and former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young, co-founded the UNCF Mayor's Masked Ball which has raised millions of dollars in scholarships for students at Historically Black College's and Universities. In existence for 37 years, the Mayor's Masked Ball is now in18 cities across the country, according to Boyd.
Boyd talked to Radio.com's Maria Boynton about Aaron's homeruns on and off the baseball field.
Aaron was 86 when he died in Atlanta on Friday, January 22, 2021.
