The line of vehicles seemed endless. Thousands showed up, many before daylight, to New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Stonecrest Wednesday for free turkeys and food boxes. Trunks were opened and filled with items starting at 6:00 Wednesday morning.

One thousand turkeys and food boxes were handed out on a first-come first-served basis.

Audacy Atlanta's V-103 joined with New Birth, Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck in helping families with holiday meals. The Big Tigger Morning Show was onsite helping to hand out the food and also hosted a live remote.

One thousand turkeys were given away along with fresh fruit, vegetables, and other items.

According to New Birth Senior Pastor Jamal Harrison Bryant, "The COVID-19 pandemic was marked not only a global health crisis but also a financial one that has increased food insecurities across the nation and around the world."
Bryant added, “We are thrilled to partner with Witherite Law Group and V-103 to give 1,000 families something to truly be thankful for this holiday season.”

The food giveaway was open to the public. Registration was not required.
