Black women from across Georgia are being called to once again make their voices heard at the Georgia State Capitol as the Wake Up With Dee Morning Show broadcasts live on Monday, Jan. 12, during the Georgia Black Women’s Roundtable.
Hosted by community leader and radio personality Dr. Dee Dawkins-Haigler, the event marks a return to the Capitol after a historic gathering last year that drew Black women in record numbers to advocate for change. Organizers say this year’s convening aims to build on that momentum with focused discussions on issues directly impacting Black women and their families.
The daylong event will feature powerful conversations on maternal mortality, voting rights, human trafficking and other critical policy and social justice concerns. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with leaders, advocates and policymakers while amplifying collective voices inside Georgia’s seat of government.
“We are inviting every single Black woman in the state of Georgia to come out and show up in a big way,” Dr. Haigler said. “This is about being united, unapologetic and unstoppable as we advocate for ourselves and our communities.”
The Wake Up With Dee Morning Show will broadcast live from the Capitol, bringing the energy and urgency of the gathering to listeners statewide.
The Georgia Black Women’s Roundtable will take place Monday, Jan. 12, at the Georgia State Capitol, 206 Washington St., Atlanta. Registration is required to attend all sessions and can be completed at http://bit.ly/BlackWomenU32026.
Organizers encourage participants to arrive ready to engage, advocate and continue shaping history at the Capitol.
