Attorney, Janice Mathis guest hosted On Point with Juandolyn Stokes Domestic Violence Awareness panel discussion in conjunction with the Partnership Against Domestic Violence Community Advocates, Jayla Clay and Caroline Caufield. Law enforcement expert, Major K.D. Johnson also participated in the panel to offer a law enforcement perspective as domestic violence calls are among the most dangerous calls they receive.
Clay and Caufield offered valuable tips for those involved in domestic violence situations including the importance of developing a plan and the importance not disclosing that plan to their partner. It is often when victims attempt to leave violent situations that they are often killed.
Mathis' sister, Davida Mathis, who co-hosted their show, Sisters in Law on WAOK also joined the conversation to share her experiences with domestic violence victims in the court system.
