Dr. LeShawn McIver tells with Stokes that there is free or low cost health insurance for children up age 19. McIver shares that there is year round enrollment.

McIver explains eligibility is for families making $50 Thousand a year for family of 4. He tells Stokes that coverage includes ER and emergency doctor visits, immunizations, prescriptions, eye care visits, dental visits, and more.

McIver goes on to share the Back to School campaign to raise awareness. He touches on receiving the child tax credit does not exempt families from applying for coverage. Lastly he says minorities include racial and ethnic, people with disabilities, people in rural communities, and the LGBTQ + communities.
