The panel featured Nancy A. Flake Johnson, the President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, Tara Murray, the Executive Director of the Washington Bureau Senior Vice President for Policy & Advocacy National Urban League, John Moye, the Senior Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs for the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, Representative Derrick Jackson from Georgia’s 68th House District, and Christopher E. Bruce, Esq, the Policy Director for the ACLU of Georgia and The Honorable Jasmine Crockett from the United States House of Representatives 30th District in Texas

These esteemed panelists engaged in a crucial conversation about Project 2025, a 900 plus page document created by the Heritage Foundation, a  Conservative Think Tank. Defending the future of our democracy and how we can work together to protect it, from voting rights to criminal justice reform, to climate control, health and education this dynamic discussion covered a wide array of topics that are essential to ensuring a fair and just society for all.

The key topics were discussed with passion and expertise. Voting rights emerged as a central theme, with panelists emphasizing the importance of ensuring equal access to the ballot box for all citizens. Criminal justice reform was also a focal point, with discussions centered around the need for a more just and equitable system that promotes rehabilitation and reduces recidivism.

Racial equity was another critical topic, with the experts stressing the importance of achieving equity in all aspects of society, from healthcare and education to housing and employment.

Legislative advocacy and social justice were also discussed as powerful tools for creating positive change and advancing policies that benefit marginalized communities.
