Recently on "Good Vibes", with host DJ. Ms. Eclectic, spoke with American singer and actress Jordan Sparks, American commentator and retired figure skater Johnny Weir and Writer/Actor Terrell Ferguson about the inaugural roller skating competition show coming up. This event is making waves as it brings together stars from diverse backgrounds to celebrate the art of skating.
Mr. Weir, a two-time U.S. Olympian, highlighted the significant differences between roller skating and figure skating. While both sports require skill and artistry, the techniques differ due to the distinct surfaces and equipment used. He noted that roller skating is often more physically demanding due to the nature of the wheels and floor.
Mr. Ferguson, a renowned roller skating figure, took on the role of a mentor, emphasizing the importance of discipline and coaching in achieving success. He explained that, like top athletes, contestants must be guided to excel in their craft, especially when competing for a substantial prize.
“Roller Jam” is not only about competition; it aims to evoke nostalgia for the joys of roller skating. The show invites viewers to relive their fondest memories of skating rinks filled with laughter and camaraderie. Alongside the prize money, a portion of the proceeds will go toward supporting local skating rinks, addressing the recent closures affecting many communities.
The competition is currently streaming on Max, with episodes featuring special celebrity judges. It will also air on the Magnolia Network starting October 12, with new episodes released weekly.
