3 things Falcons must do this off-season

Just like any other non-playoff team in the NFL the Atlanta Falcons have a lot of work to do this offseason, but earlier today The Morning Shift laid out the top three things the Falcons have to do this offseason

1.) Sign Drake London to whatever money he wants
Mike Johnson says Drake gets the first shot at having an extension because “he’s just one of those guys that I have no idea where you are as a football team or as an offense next year without Drake London or Bijan Robinson.”

2.) Pick up Bijan Robinson’s 5th year option
Mike says picking up Bijan’s fifth-year option is “the most slam dunk thing I’ve ever even heard of to go ahead and extend him and then start working towards whatever contract extension”

3.) Figure out your short-term plan at QB
Because of what he will cost to keep on the roster, there’s a good chance Kirk Cousins will be off the Falcons roster, and off the Falcons books, and if that is indeed how it plays out then Atlanta will be tasked with finding a quarterback who can be a short term starter, until Michael Penix Jr. is ready to return from his partially torn ACL.

Locking up your two best players for the foreseeable and short term future and figuring out what you’re going to do at the most important position on the field until your franchise quarterback is ready to return sound like the three most important things any team can do in an offseason, so extending Drake London, picking up Bijan Robinson’s fifth-year option, and figuring out a short-term plan at quarterback are definitely the top three things the Falcons have to do this offseason.
