Michael Penix Jr. will not take reps against Dolphins
As the Atlanta Falcons get set to wrap up their preseason games on Friday, head coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Wednesday, third year quarterback, Michael Penix Jr. would not be among the starters who will get first team reps against the Miami Dolphins, leaving many fans disappointed due to the fact Penix Jr. will not play.
Following Wednesday’s practice, while speaking with media, when asked if he wanted to play on Friday, Penix Jr. explained that with just three days of 11 on 11 reps after being cleared to be a full participant in Falcons’ practices, he is not ready to take the field against the Dolphins.
“I’m more concerned now than I was two weeks ago with Michael Penix Jr. and it has nothing to do with his physical ailment,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes, said as he explained why he has some reservations in regards to Penix Jr. following his comments.
“He should be telling us that he wants to choke Kevin Stefanski out to get on the field,” Dukes said of what he expected to be hearing from the Falcons’ quarterback. “Let the team and the coach say no,” Dukes said of how he believes Penix Jr. should be approaching his return.Michael Penix Jr. not playing in Falcons final preseason game
