Falcons look to present a better product as preseason continues

On Saturday, the Atlanta Falcons will be back on the field when they take on the Indianapolis Colts in their second preseason game of the year after two days of joint practices with the Colts. And while Atlanta’s starters will not be participating on Saturday, the Falcons’ offense will look to show a better display in comparison to their performance in the loss to the Denver Broncos last week.

“Their offense, after what they did last Friday left a lot of room for people to say ‘hey man, that was not pretty’”, Atlanta Falcons beat writer for the Atlanta Journal Constitution, said on Friday as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell to preview Saturday’s contest.

“I think they probably banked more reps against the ones with their [Colts] ones this week then they will at any other point in this preseason, so this was kind of their real chance to impress and maybe ease some concerns,” Flick said of the Falcons’ offense. “I think they’re confident with the work that they did, I’m not sure that I am,” Flick continued noting the Falcons were unable to “win any of the team drills” towards the end of Wednesday and Thursday’s joint sessions.

“They looked good in the red zone, but I think collectively their offensive line still has some questions,” Flick said despite believing the Falcons were able to run the ball well but still needing “continuity and chemistry” up front, adding he believes the performance of both quarterbacks “still leaves a lot to be desired as well,”
