Falcons will learn about their run defense against Colts
On Wednesday, the Atlanta Falcons began joint practices with the Indianapolis Colts as the two teams get ready to face off on Saturday in their Week 2 preseason matchup. And while the Falcons will look to address several areas, the Colts offer them an opportunity to evaluate their run defense, an area they finished 24th in the NFL last season.
“You know four of five starters at this point, you have an idea of the fifth starter, obviously what this team does from a rushing standpoint with Jonathan Taylor, tells you how good the offensive can be,” Colts television and radio voice, Greg Rakestraw, said as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell to share some insight on what the Falcons could expect to see from the Colts offensive line.
“There’s really kind of one question mark, but overall this group kind of knows what they are from a running the football standpoint and obviously when you have a guy like Jonathan Taylor, who just picked up another two-year extension, that kicks in next year, you know what you’re about and that’s to establish the run first. So, the Falcons will get a good look at that these nest few days at practice here,” Rakestraw said.Falcons' defense facing one of NFL's top offensive lines in Colts
