Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Arthur Smith joined Dukes & Bell for his weekly appearance. Coach Smith also talked about the progress that Jalen Mayfield has made so far this season and who would fill in for Kaleb McGary if he doesn’t play on Sunday against the Dolphins.

When asked if Jalen Mayfield would remain at left guard.

“Jalen’s done a good job at left guard, obviously he had played tackle, we had some injuries early in camp and we had to put him over there and it’s good for him. It’s life in the NFL and he’s kind of settled in at guard, so I’m not going to move him from guard,” Smith said.

Smith talked about what the team might do at right tackle if Kaleb McGary doesn't return from the Covid list.

“I feel very confident in Spriggs and Gossett and we will make a decision on Saturday. There’s still a chance that Kaleb can come back, but you got to plan for him not to be there this week, we got a lot of confidence in Jason Spriggs and Colby Gossett. It’s kind of where we’re at that spot and that’s life in the NFL, there’s going to be something every week.”
