Sunday’s game in Dallas was another historic loss for the Falcons under head coach Dan Quinn as the team blew yet another large second-half lead. The guys on Dukes & Bell talked about what they think might be the root of these types of losses.
Carl thinks that attention to details is what’s attributing to losses.
“You can’t go over every scenario, every day that you are going over special teams and not go over that one,” Dukes said. “That’s why I’ve harked today and even last week on attention to details. If you listen to this show Thursday and Friday of last week I said this is what’s got to change, and it didn’t on Sunday. It didn’t because that’s what got us beat again.”
“Guys standing around watching it and how does that scenario not play out in our favor," Dukes said. "Knowing that’s something that our special teams coordinator Ben Kotwica has to go over, that Coach Quinn has to go over, that everybody has to make sure everybody is on the same page. It’s almost looked like half of the special teams unit knew and the guys that were around the ball didn’t. Either way this was the most frustrating and aggravating game since the Super Bowl.”
