Former Cleveland Browns All-Pro Left Tackle and now Pro Football Hall of Fame Offensive Lineman Joe Thomas joined The Morning Shift earlier today, and explained why he thinks Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson will be a perfect fit in new Falcons Head Coach Kevin Stefanski’s scheme.
“His scheme historically has suited really good, powerful running backs. Nick Chubb was the best, most successful running back in the NFL when Kevin Stefanski was there before he had his knee injury, and I think that fits perfectly for a guy like Bijan Robinson..” Joe said.
The Hall of Famer finished his thought by saying “I think one of the big reasons why they probably brought Stefanski in there is because he’s got a great running scheme which fits the personnel that you guys have in Atlanta and it opens up the play action passing down the field in the middle of the field something that I think Falcons fans would welcome, those easy completions down the field, Kyle Pitts, guys that can get wide open, but you guys haven’t had a chance to be able to get them open and get them the football down the field to really stretch that field vertically.”
After leading the NFL in scrimmage yards this past season with 2,298 yards the Falcons All-Pro running back could be in line to have another big season in Kevin Stefanski and Tommy Rees’ offense.
