Earlier today on The Morning Shift, Ali Mac, Mike Johnson and Beau Morgan recapped and reacted to the Atlanta Falcons taking down the San Francisco 49ers 29-20 at home yesterday, and talked about Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. having success against the 49ers defense by simply taking what the San Fran’s defense gave him.
“It was one of the first times in his career that I’ve seen him very conscious and okay with taking, settling, with what the defense has given you.” Beau Morgan said
Mike Johnson added to Beau’s point by saying “His processes of getting his read and hitting his check down was better than it’s ever been.”
Penix’s performance against the 49ers yesterday looked like another step in the right direction when it comes to his development into being a franchise quarterback that can help the Falcons win a Super Bowl.
