On Wednesday, Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Michael Penix Jr., returned to the team facility for the first time since having season ending surgery to repair a partially torn ACL in his left knee. “It’s been awesome man,” Falcons head coach, Raheem Morris said on Tuesday as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell and shared how the second-year quarterback appears to be in good spirits despite having to deal with recovering from injury.
“He has a great support group,” Morris said of Penix Jr.’s family and teammates and how they have been able to help encourage the Falcons’ signal caller through his recovery process, also noting how encouraging he has been himself as the Falcons look to close out the regular season on a positive note.
“When he gets in the building, to be able to watch him around his teammates and how much the guys love him and how much he cares for those guys and to watch him with our guys. And really, he’s focused on getting healthy, first and foremost, he focused on what he can do, if anything, to be able to help the football team this year and then he’s focused on how he’s going to attack this offseason,” Morris said.
