While the Atlanta Falcons’ offense is now in the hands of Kirk Cousins, the future of the starting quarterback position still belongs to Michael Penix Jr., who had surgery on Tuesday to reconstruct a partial ACL tear, and for Falcons head coach, Raheem Morris, despite criticism of Penix Jr.’s ability to operate the Atlanta offense under center, the Falcons have no reason to be concerned.

“Mike can go under center anytime,” Morris said as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell to address the questioning of Penix Jr. running the Falcons offense regardless of the scheme, however has been successful in the pistol formation.

“He’s actually had a lot of success with the play action pass out the pistol this year,” Morris said as he explained while Penix Jr. has played under center at times this season, he has performed well when not. “Mike can do whatever you ask him to do,” Morris said.
