Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier joined Dukes & Bell at Flowery Branch after practice on Thursday. The BYU product spoke on his role in the offense and his relationship with fellow back Bijan Robinson. Allgeier says the two bonded instantly and have been close ever since.
There was a chance when Robinson was drafted that Allgeier could have felt slighted after posting 1,000 yards as a rookie. The two instead have become a dynamic duo in the backfield as strong as any in the entire NFL. The running back room has become crowded in Atlanta as well with the additions of Carlos Washington Jr. and rookie Jase McClellan.
Allgeier's role diminished in 2023, but expects to be back in full force this season under new head coach Raheem Morris. He spent several minutes after practice catching balls from the jug machine and joked he hopes to be involved in the passing game as well.
