The Atlanta Falcons, and the rest of the NFL, are deep in their evaluation process as the league ramps up to the NFL draft season. General managers and scouts are down in Mobile, Alabama to take part in the annual Senior Bowl -- but how important is this event?
The Steakhouse discussed the draft process and gave their thoughts on what pieces of the puzzle should be considered most as we lead in to the NFL Draft in April.
"I'm gonna tell y'all something," Sandra said. "This Senior Bowl is ridiculous. It means very little, and I'm going to bring up two names: Bryan Cox and Ra'Shede Hageman."
Hageman was the Falcons' second-round draft selection back in 2014 after the team fell in love with him during their time at the Senior Bowl. He recorded 61 tackles and four sacks in his 44 games before being released by the team before the 2017 season due to some legal issues.
Ultimately, the defensive lineman never lived up to the initial promise following his strong Senior Bowl performance.
"As opposed to what?" Steak asked about what executives should rely on instead. "The NFL Combine?"
"Game film!" she answered. "Are you kidding me?"
Steak disagreed. He sees the value in future NFL players going head to head with other future NFL players over what they may have done in college against lesser competition.
"I don't want to see game film [from] college," he said about what he values during the process. "I want to see what he's going to be like when NFL coaches put hands on them."
