After a lot of conclusions were drawn about Bill Belichick going to be the next Head Coach of the Atlanta Falcons it seems like Belichick to Atlanta is growing less and less likely by the day. Reports are that Jim Harbaugh could possibly be close to a deal with the Chargers to become their next Head Coach, but obviously nothing has been finalized yet. However, if it’s not going to be Belichick or Harbaugh who’s the guy?
Earlier today The Morning Shift explained why Los Angeles Rams Defensive Coordinator and former Defensive Coordinator and Interim Head Coach of the Atlanta Falcons Raheem Morris would be a good fit as the Falcons next Head Coach.
When Morris was the interim Head Coach in Atlanta in 2020 he gave a team that started 0-5 a pulse. The Falcons went 4-7 under Morris for the rest of the 2020-21 season, and that record honestly doesn’t do justice to the job that he did, so he shouldn’t be judged on what the team’s record was when he had to take over a sinking ship that wasn’t his.
This time around it will be different because this will actually be his team. The interim tag won’t be on and it will be his ship. He can actually do all the things he would want to do as a head coach, and with the Falcons bringing him in for a second interview Falcons fans shouldn’t overlook or be disappointed if Raheem Morris ends up being the Falcons new Head Coach.
